Do FSLA events count as CPD? 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 0
Yes. FSLA's events (other than the social ones!) should count towards your CPD requirements.

Solicitors have to complete 16 hours of CPD per year. CPD includes courses, lectures, seminars or other programmes that are relevant to the needs and professional standards of solicitors and complies with Law Society guidance. More information can be found on the Law Society website.

Barristers' requirements differ. They must do 45 hours of accredited CPD in their first three years, and 12 hours a year thereafter. Attending lectures and seminars directly relevant to practice as a barrister counts as CPD. More information can be found on the Bar Standards Board website.

For both barristers and solicitors, four hours of CPD has to be obtained through an accredited provider. FSLA is accredited by the Bar Standards Board. We hope to become accredited by the Law Society in the near future.

Both the BSB and Law Society expect you to keep your own record of CPD completed. Your profile can help by telling you the last ten events that you have booked on.
