World Bank
The World Bank is made up of two development institutions owned by 185 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA).The IBRD focuses on middle income and creditworthy poor countries, while IDA focuses on the poorest countries in the world. The Insolvency Service:

  • administers and investigates the affairs of bankrupts, of companies and partnerships wound up by the court, and establishes why they became insolvent;
  • acts as trustee/liquidator where no private sector insolvency practitioner is appointed;
  • acts as nominee and supervisor in fast-track individual voluntary arrangements;
